Kate really wanted to get ready at their house in Alliance that is her and Ryan’s first home together. It was quick to notice why. It has a beautiful staircase, wood floors throughout, and such a cozy charm about it. It also displayed numerous photos from their engagement session from January, when we endured sub zero temps!! However, we couldn’t have asked for a better day for their wedding. After doing the girl’s photos at her house, we headed to downtown Akron. The ceremony was at St. Bernard, right in the heart of Akron. It is a special church to me, because my Grandpa grew up there, and it is beyond breathtaking. After the family formals were done, the bridal party headed to Cascade Park, where we had nice light, and total privacy to take our time. It’s always so nice to not have to rush, and have plenty of time to get great shots of the bride and groom alone.
The reception was at Tangiers. The food, service, and atmosphere did not disappoint. It is a unique venue with so much personality. The highlight of the night was definitely the Bridal Polka. Guests paid to dance with Kate, many of the PA family waving their terrible towels. They then all circled around her, creating a shield to keep Ryan from getting in the middle to her. Needless to say, the groomsmen helped him reach his bride! It was a fantastic day and celebration to be a part of. I am so excited to share a glimpse of my favorites with you!
