I met Julie & Dan for the first time at their Columbus engagement session. The two of them currently reside there, so they wanted to document their time in the city before their move back to the Youngstown area. Somehow the entire session didn’t go quite as planned- but that’s what makes it so fun sometimes! We started off at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, which was nice to be indoors with the hot humidity outside. The architecture was stunning inside, and it wasn’t busy since it was almost closing time. We took some photos in the baking section for Julie, who happens to be an amazing baker. This I know first hand, because she brought me a box of her homemade cookies- which no lie were like 1 lb. each!
We closed down the library, and headed to our next destination: Inniswood Metro Gardens. We had never been there, but the google images looked amazing. It’s in Westerville, so by the time we arrived, thunder was rolling in. The thunder then turned to rain and lightning. We were able to get quite a bit in before the rain, thankfully. We figured the rain would be quick, so it gave us a chance to talk and get to know each other. After an hour of waiting out the rain, we figured we better finish the session before it got dusk. Go figure, none of us had umbrellas on us, so we literally were out in the rain drops (and some lightning strikes). After our hearts quit pounding, we had to laugh about it, because there wasn’t much we could do at that point!
As we were heading back to our cars, there was a double rainbow!
It was so great meeting and getting to know these two. They are planning an October wedding in Youngstown, which will be amazing! On my two hour drive home, I snacked on one of Julie’s cookies, which were so delicious! If you are in need of custom desserts, her baking link is here: Baked by Julie
J+D, I hope you love the preview!
