Rainy Day Alliance Wedding with Hayley & John
Last October, I met Hayley and John for the first time at their Fall engagement session. That’s when I knew how much Hayley loved photos! When you dream of your wedding, you usually want gorgeous, outdoor photos (especially if it’s still Summer). Rarely in Ohio does it rain non-stop.all.day. If it does, it’s usually during hurricane season, and in Hayley & John’s case, the day of their Alliance Wedding. Hurricane Florence moved in a little quicker than predicted, so we had a steady rain to work with.
Hayley and John didn’t have a typical wedding though. They had no bridal party attendants, and they had a very intimate ceremony in Alliance, at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church. It may take the record for the smallest church ceremony I’ve ever photographed. Thankfully, it was a safe place from the weather outside! They had originally planned to ride their Harley to the Lake for photos, unfortunately, we had to use plan B. The Glamorgan Castle was nearby, and there were some overhangs we were able to use for cover. We were the only ones there, so that was nice!
When it is raining, you have to get creative and just go with it. My second shooter helped to quickly take the umbrella away for some shots, so if you weren’t there, you may not even realize it was raining! The colors were so rich and vibrant, and I am thrilled with the results we got!We stopped by Mount Union Campus before heading to Heritage Oaks for the reception. After dinner, Hayley and John had a very aggressive cake cutting followed by the shoe game. It may not have been everything they had hoped, but they didn’t let the weather ruin the day!
Hayley & John, I hope your preview brings a smile to your faces!
