Felicia & Joel- Canton Wedding

Felicia and Joel originally didn’t have their date set for October 7th. A cancellation at Skyland Pines opened the date they wanted, so they made the switch. They had already had a photographer booked and engagement photos taken. The photographer was already booked for the new date, so enter me. Felicia’s mom was actually the one who found me, and set up our meeting. From the first time we met, we all felt really good vibes about working together. Felicia is my beloved cats name, which even funnier, Feesh is her nickname, same as Felicias! We also have sons a month apart in age, so we are in very similar shoes. It wasn’t until our final meeting before the wedding, that I found out they were having a Great Gatsby Theme. That made me even more excited about this couple!

The day of the wedding started a little rocky, things were a little behind schedule. But, after Joel and Felicia did a first look near the ceremony site at Skyland Pines, we got our game faces on. The bridal party headed to the Canton Garden Center for photos. We had terrific weather, and managed to get lots of pictures in before we had to leave due to another ceremony there. They had planned an outdoor ceremony, and it could not have been more perfect. The two of them wrote their own vows, which were so heartfelt. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour with a caricature artist, a popcorn bar from Nom Nom Cupcake Factory, and a cigar bar! Felicia really outdid herself with all a large variety of signs and centerpieces with custom Jack Daniels labels. They truly made their 20’s theme come to life! Some guests were even dressed in headpieces, fedoras, and vintage clothing, making it a wedding to remember.

Bridesmaid Mercedes, made the Gatsby cake and Groom’s cake from scratch. She also sang a dynamite rendition of “Big Spender” during the money dance. Felicia changed into her second dress during the reception, and the party was going! A month before the wedding, Joel’s Mother, Barbara, unexpectedly passed away. She had been planning on dancing with Joel for the mother/son dance. They played a special Elton John song in remembrance of her life. After getting to know Joel, I’m sure she was a wonderful women just like her son. They ended the night with a sparkler exit, and such great memories.

Felicia and Joel, I am so glad I was a part of your day. You two make an awesome pair!

Enjoy a glimpse of my favorite images!
