When I met Lydia and Nori for the first time, I knew their Mentor Summer wedding was something I wanted to be a part of. They were such a sweet couple, and they valued photos- Something I always love to hear from a couple! I knew from their Cleveland engagement session, how much they loved each other, and that Lydia loved photos! We had so much fun the night of their engagement session, I knew their wedding would be even better.
They got married in Mentor at St. Gabriel Church. During the ceremony, it was raining buckets, which we could all hear from the rooftop. They had a full mass which also included a coin ceremony, which Nori presented thirteen coins to Lydia. The exchange of the coins is a representation that the husband will promise to provide for his family and the bride’s trust in his responsibility to do so. Almost immediately following the ceremony, the rain stopped, which allowed us to go outside for bridal party photos.
We went to Wickliffe City Hall and it was a photographer’s dream! I had never been there, so I was excited when I got a glimpse of the beautiful building and garden area. They had quite a large gap in between the ceremony and reception, which gave us lots of stress free time for photos! I have to give a shout-out to their limo driver, Larry, from A-1 Mr. Limo. He was, hands down, the best driver I’ve ever seen in my career!
The reception was at Painesville Township Park, which is overlooking Lake Erie. When we arrived, I knew the lake would be the perfect photo opportunity later in the night. Lydia and Nori started the evening with their first dance. The fathers both gave speeches, and I’m sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the place during Nori’s dad’s toast! The dinner was delicious, along with the variety of desserts. We were able to sneak out at sunset for some amazing portraits. Definitely my favorites from the day! Lydia and Nori danced the night away with family and friends.
