It should be a written law that if you have your wedding on 7-7, everything should turn out pretty perfect! That’s exactly what happened for Allison and Colby’s Hudson Summer Wedding. The two of them currently reside in Minneapolis, so it was my first-time meeting Colby, and I hadn’t seen Allison in almost a year. Allison and the bridesmaids started the day off at One Eleven Salon in downtown Hudson, then headed to the church to get ready. Allison had a sweet moment with her Dad, and then met Colby out front, for a private first look.
The bridal party made the short drive to Western Reserve Academy for group photos. It was a beautiful, sunny day- not a cloud in the sky. After some time spent on campus, we headed back before the ceremony start. The wedding was at Christ Church Episcopal, a quaint church built in 1842, right in the heart of Hudson. Since we were able to take almost all of the photos prior to the ceremony, we were able to get to the reception right away.
Allison and Colby had their reception at the Wine Mill in Peninsula. It was my first time there, and the vibe was quite different than the “standard” wedding reception. In this case, different was a good thing! Everything about the evening was awesome. They had a large tent filled with tables, a small tent over the dance floor, bistro tables and patio chairs spread throughout the venue. They had food stations and cocktails available instead of a formal dinner. This allowed guests to eat and drink at their leisure. The venue was set up perfectly for the weather that day. Thankfully, it did not rain!
The new Mr. and Mrs. cut their cake inside and had an assortment of delicious desserts as well. Later in the night, an ice cream truck offered a variety of cold treats for the guests to enjoy. The kids particularly loved it! Hats Off Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night. The Wine Mill had unique beers, signature drinks and delicious food. It’s not a venue for everyone, but on a perfect Ohio Summer night- it can’t be beat! I hope to be back in the near future!
